North West Students Take Part in Young Scientist ExhibitionStudents from Sligo and Leitrim are attending the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition which opens to the public today

More than 2,000 projects from around the country were entered into this year's exhibition, with 550 selected to take part. Students from Ballinamore Community School, St Claire's Comprehensive in Manorhamilton and Jesus and Mary Secondary School in Enniscrone are a few of the schools taking part in the event. The winners will be announced tomorrow evening.

Meanwhile the European Commission in Ireland has teamed up with The Festival of Curiosity to launch a campaign on climate change at the exhibition. Attendees at the event are invited to attend the EU Commission stand at the RDS to Light a Beacon to help save the planet. Vincent McCarthy from The Festival of Curiousity says there are a  number of ways people can get involved.
